Fencing & Gates service in Northumberland by Harrison Landscape & Garden Services

Fencing is one of our most requested services. We build new fences and gates, replace old or damaged ones and carry out repairs, for front gardens, back gardens, yards and driveways across Prudhoe and Northumberland.

Each fence is built around the garden and what it needs to do. That might be a tall double-boarded fence for privacy beside a public footpath, a lighter vertical board style, a fence built on top of an existing wall with a capping rail, or panels stepped down a sloping garden so the top line stays neat. We also build matching gates and bin stores. We use pressure-treated timber throughout, set the posts firmly and keep boards off the soil where we can, so the fence lasts.

Frequently Asked Questions

How much does a new fence cost?

Every job is different, so we don't work from a fixed price list. We price each one individually after seeing the garden, and quotes are always free and no-obligation. The main factors are the length and height of the fence, the style of boarding, the number of gates and whether an old fence needs taking down first.

What kind of timber do you use?

Pressure-treated timber. It weathers naturally from green to a softer silver-brown over time, and can be stained later if you'd prefer a different colour.

What's the difference between a standard fence and a double-boarded one?

A double-boarded fence has boards on both sides of the rails, overlapping so there are no gaps to see through. It gives full privacy and looks just as smart from both sides, which makes it a good choice beside paths, roads and neighbours.

Can you build a gate or bin store as part of the fence?

Yes. We've built matching gates, ledged and braced gates with heavy black hinges, and enclosed bin stores with their own gate, all as part of fencing jobs.
